Although we already began the Pop Art lesson in class this week, I decided to create a very brief overview of what we discussed in class for the purpose of those who missed the lecture due to testing. We discussed the art movement, Pop Art, and Post Pop art.  The pop art movement began in the US and in Britain in the 1950's and reached its peak of activity in the 1960's. Its main subject matter was everyday images such as comic strips, billboards, consumer products and celebrity images. The Pop artists of this movement reproduced everyday common items and caused us to view them in a different light. If you missed class due to testing, please watch the tutorial and be prepared to begin the Pop art lesson first thing Monday.

Flipped Classroom:  Drawing A Still Life - Using A View Finder

4/2/2015

A viewfinder is a simple device that allows you to isolate or “crop” a scene within a rectangular area. You can adjust the viewfinder back and forth, left and right, and up and down, looking for the most dramatic and engaging composition. Watch the tutorial and see how using a view finder will help you make a great still life drawing.

    Flipped Classroom

The Flipped Classroom is a pedagogical model in which the typical lecture and homework elements are reversed. Short video lectures are viewed by students prior to class session, while in-class time is devoted to exercises, projects, or discussions.
