You will continue to develop your drawing skills in this unit. To make it interesting and fun, we will practice drawing and continue to improve our skills by drawing tattoo art. Below is a tutorial that I created that will guide you through this unit. Have fun! This video will give you a brief history of graffiti art in America. I also introduce to you leading artists of this art form. At the end of the video you will see student examples of art and will be given an understanding of what is expected of you for this assignment. Ms. B. Now that you know how to use value to shade in pencil and in colored pencils, we will now begin to put that knowledge into use! Let's use our knowledge or the Element of Art "value" in our graffiti letters! I have two Flipped Classroom videos on graffiti art. Please scroll down on this page to watch a video on the history of graffiti and famous graffiti artists. This PowerPoint presentation will reenforce information preciously taught in my two Flipped Classroom videos. Art students, this is our first lesson: How to shade a sphere. Use these two videos and PowerPoint to master this skill, you will need it all semester! Ms. B.Here is another Flipped Video for you. Here is another resource for you! This video was created to go over a few rules and procedures for those students who missed the first day of school. Please log on to watch. You will earn 10 points for subscribing to my YouTube channel. Points add up to an "A"! Although we already began the Pop Art lesson in class this week, I decided to create a very brief overview of what we discussed in class for the purpose of those who missed the lecture due to testing. We discussed the art movement, Pop Art, and Post Pop art. The pop art movement began in the US and in Britain in the 1950's and reached its peak of activity in the 1960's. Its main subject matter was everyday images such as comic strips, billboards, consumer products and celebrity images. The Pop artists of this movement reproduced everyday common items and caused us to view them in a different light. If you missed class due to testing, please watch the tutorial and be prepared to begin the Pop art lesson first thing Monday. A viewfinder is a simple device that allows you to isolate or “crop” a scene within a rectangular area. You can adjust the viewfinder back and forth, left and right, and up and down, looking for the most dramatic and engaging composition. Watch the tutorial and see how using a view finder will help you make a great still life drawing.

Flipped ClassroomThe Flipped Classroom is a pedagogical model in which the typical lecture and homework elements are reversed. Short video lectures are viewed by students prior to class session, while in-class time is devoted to exercises, projects, or discussions.
