What A Special Day, What an Amazing Message!

E. B. Lewis
World class, awarding winning illustrator, author, artist, and university teacher came to our classroom today! It was amazing!

    E. B. Lewis has been awarded the prestigious Coretta Scott King Award for illustrators and he is also a two-time Caldecott Award winner! Mr. Lewis graced our classroom today with an inspirational message on topics like; following your passion in order to find your purpose, and believing in yourself, even if the rest of the world believes you will fail. He also spoke about being a leader, getting focused in life, setting goals, staying in school and the power of reading!
He commanded an audience of 55 teenagers; you could have heard a pin drop when he was speaking. His artwork is incredible, but his message was even more incredible.
Thank you, Mr. Lewis, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to come to Blanche Ely's art room. We were honored and privileged to meet you and hear your message. You changed lives today...this I know!
